With the rail loading station for heavy loads, which was connected to the rail network in middle of 2009, BREMER can economically implement construction projects within a radius of 1,500 km. The station for BREMER precast elements from Paderborn has one siding for loading and one siding for stabling vehicles, with two overhead cranes capable of manoeuvring loads up to 50 metric tons. The yard where precast reinforced concrete elements are stored extends over a total area of 3,500 sqm. In making this investment, BREMER is thinking green, switching logistics from road to rail in favour of the environmentally sounder alternative. By using rail transport, BREMER reduces its carbon footprint by 22%.
