Description of the facility The logistics hall of the Internet retailer Amazon is located on a 20 hectare site directly adjacent to the 4 motorway. The 96,000 sqm warehouse and office facility is divided by fire walls into six fire compartments. The middle section has 21 delivery doors at the front and another 21 at the back. The shell is a precast reinforced concrete element structure with a column grid of 24 m x 12 m. Up to a height of 2.5 m, the facade is made of reinforced concrete sandwich panels with a washed concrete surface. Above that it is realised with insulated wall elements. The roof structure consists of trapezoidal steel sheeting with thermal insulation and impermeable membrane. The entrance area of the logistics building is architecturally emphasized as the office facility access point by a free-standing advertising tower and a 50 m long steel truss bridge.
